Water Restoration Case Study
Residential

Problems
ResidenceA pipe burst on the second floor of this large residence while the homeowner was out of town. The running water was not discovered for five days. Water saturated the entire structure from the second floor, down to the main floor and into the basement. Hardwood floors, carpet, ceilings, crown molding and drywall were all affected. Wet debris was present throughout the home.

Solution
RxHeater in useWithin an hour of receiving the call, a response team arrived with air movers and a 1.2 million Btu RX15 Heater. After extracting standing water and removing the saturated debris, all salvageable contents were transported to another location for cleaning and drying. The RxHeat unit was then set up to quickly heat and dry the entire structure before additional damage could set in. Remote monitors were placed throughout the home to record both temperature, relative humidity (RH) and dewpoint.

Results
The RX15 Heater produced 6000 CFM of air flow at 160°F to 180°F, which was distributed throughout the house with lay flat duct and air movers. This quickly heated the entire structure to 95°F, with some sections heated to 125°F as needed to speed drying so the reconstruction process could begin as soon as possible. The entire structure was dried out in only 3 days.

Customer Comments
“We were very impressed with the performance of the RX15 heater. Using traditional dehumidification drying methods would have required several more days. The fast heat up and drying capacity of the RxHeat unit, combined with remote monitoring, saved our client $3000 to $4000.”
